NBA Live Mobile Gameplay and Updates: Walt Frazier, Vlade Divac Added to Legends Program

Most mobile games follow a single formula, slightly varying the environment with online events and new themes every month. Some are able to break the routine, adding new features and elements to boost playing experience.

NBA Live Mobile is right smack in between as a game. While it is based off a real life sport and thus, following a routine gameplay, it does produce new material to keep its users hooked. The NBA is a gift that keeps on giving—whether it is a new player, a new trade or even legends of the sport.

This time around, EA Sports added to their plethora of NBA greats on the Legends program. Two of the biggest names in American basketball, Walt Frazier and Vlade Divac, made the cut.

"Clyde" Frazier had a stint as an announcer for the New York Knicks, but he is best known for his work on the court with the team. The 6'4" point guard led the Knicks to two championships in 1970 and 1973. During his ten seasons with NYK, he was a seven-time All-Star who averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds in his career.

Divac, meanwhile, played 16 seasons in the league, first being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers and one of the first Euroleague players to transfer to the NBA. Retiring over a decade ago, Divac had solidified his place in the Basketball Hall of Fame, as one of the only three players to get past 13,000 points, 9,000 rebounds, 3,000 assists and 1,500 blocks over his career. The only other two players to do so were Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Divac also helped the Sacramento Kings, then led by star forward Chris Webber, to the Western Conference Finals against his former Lakers team. He also made the 2001 All-Star team.

Frazier can be pulled from purchasable in-game packs. Divac, meanwhile, can be obtained by completing his own Legends set. Users would need a Legend Trophy, three 1999 Featured Year Collectibles, two Sacramento Kings Team Collectibles, a Number 21 Jersey Collectible and 15 Elite Trophies. Frazier can be added to the Big Man lineup, while Divac goes to the Shooting lineup.

According to NBALive.gg, there is a possibility that the legends were added ahead of schedule due to the onslaught of Hurricane Matthew. Other updates include new Campus Heroes additions, led by a 90 overall Tyler Hansbrough.
