NBA News 2015: Cavs Guard Iman Shumpert Helps Deliver Fiancee's Baby; Wolves Looking To Trade Kevin Martin

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert recently made the headlines after helping his fiancée deliver their baby daughter on Wednesday morning.

In a report by the New York Post, the 25-year-old professional basketball player, who named his daughter after himself (Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr.), helped with the birthing process by putting a pair of headphones around the umbilical cord until paramedics arrived. In an Instagram post on Thursday, Shumpert's fiancée Teyana Taylor announced their daughter's birth at 6:42 am on the 16th of December.

She added that she was not aware the she was already in labor until she felt her daughter's head, who took "two ten count pushes" to finally come out.

"She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete," an excerpt of Taylor's post reads.

Meanwhile, veteran Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin is on the shortlist of the team's trading block for the season. In a report by The Associated Press, like most teams, the decision of the Wolves' management mainly relied on them wanting to acquire younger players.

The report adds that with youngsters Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins showing more promise, the team is getting more reasons to let go of the 32-year-old Martin, who has been with the Timberwolves since 2013.

In another report by Matt Moore of CBS Sports, the Wolves already have the presence of other veterans such as Kevin Garnett, Tayshaun Prince and Andre Miller, all of whom could provide "veteran leadership".

According to Moore, given the fact that there are not many "real buyers" on the market and Martin's contract, it may not be a good idea to let go of him just yet.

"If you trade for him thinking he'll be a major piece, he could opt out and depart, which means you gave up assets for nothing, and if he doesn't, you could be on the hook for his $7.3 million final season," Moore wrote.
