For his part, Okafor expressed remorse about what had been happening to him outside the basketball court through a series of tweets he posted on Monday.

"I own my choices both personally and now publicly. At this point I am cooperating and respecting the process I have to go through," Okafor wrote. "Going forward I don't want to be a distraction for my team and am grateful for the support and guidance those close to me are giving."

"I am 100% focused on my responsibility to the League, my teammates and fans."

Meanwhile Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd will be suspended for one game after "aggressively pursuing and confronting a game official" during their game against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

"The incident, for which Kidd was assessed a technical foul and ejected, occurred with 1:49 remaining in the fourth quarter of Milwaukee's 129-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at BMO Harris Bradley Center," an excerpt of the league's official statement through NBA.com reads.

The report adds that Kidd will be serving his suspension during the Bucks' game against the Orlando Magic on Sunday. They currently hold a record of 6-10.
