NBA Trade Rumors 2016: Bucks Make Greg Monroe Available for Trade Offers

A lot of players in the league are terrified while waiting for the Feb. 18 trade deadline, especially those who are constantly involved in trade rumors. One of them is Milwaukee Bucks center/power forward Greg Monroe, who the team surprisingly placed on the trade market just two weeks before the deadline.

Multiple sources are saying that Jason Kidd's team has made Monroe available but they're only entertaining offers for the right price, though there are no other details as to what they want in return. The 25-year-old big man is in first year of his three-year, $50 million contract he signed with the Bucks when he became an unrestricted free agent before the start of the season.

While it looks to be a surprising move for a team that relies a lot on Monroe's offensive abilities inside the paint, the thing is the Bucks may be looking for better production from him. The team is currently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a record of 20-31 and they're only better than the Brooklyn Nets and the league-worst Philadelphia 76ers.

Another probable reason why they're trying to explore trade options for Monroe and another starter, point guard Michael Carter-Williams is because both players have trouble leading the team, no thanks to issues like defensive weaknesses and team chemistry.

Before signing with the Bucks, Monroe played his first five years in Detroit, where he was drafted seventh overall during the 2010 NBA Draft. He became a hot prospect in the weeks, leading to the draft because of his potential as a traditional big man who can man the paint and dominate the inside both offensively and defensively.

He is currently averaging almost a double-double for his team with 16.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
The Bucks now have less than two weeks to hear and consider offers, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Monroe lands on a playoff contender.
