NBA Trade Rumors 2017: Milwaukee Bucks Eyeing Richard Jefferson

Cleveland Cavaliers' veteran forward Richard Jefferson should be signed onto the Milwaukee Bucks, if all goes well.

If Jefferson were to be signed onto the Bucks, the team will be forced to trade away one player at the very least. Rumor has it that the Bucks are looking for trade partners for guard Rashad Vaughn and center John Henson.

When the team is successful in trading off either Vaughn or Henson, they should be able to sign Jefferson in.

Jefferson's addition to the team means they remain free from the NBA's luxury tax threshold. Moreover, the Bucks' roster will remain at 15 if Jefferson is added to the team.

Reports say that Jefferson and the Bucks share the same interest. The team is particularly interested in him because he has a history with coach Jason Kidd. Both of them were on the same team before, the New Jersey Nets. They reached the NBA Finals together. Despite representing different teams, they have remained friends over the years.

The Bucks also want the baller to become a mentor to their younger players, especially to rising stars Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, and current NBA Rookie of the year, Malcolm Brogdon.

Jefferson played in 79 games in the previous season and he averaged 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest, making him a solid contributor to the Bucks. He is expected to be added by this Monday.

Last Friday the Cleveland Cavaliers decided to trade the veteran forward, and guard Kay Felder, as well as two second-round picks to the Atlanta Hawks. When the Hawks made the trade for Jefferson, they waived him. He should be a free agent if he clears waivers.

Other teams are also looking into acquiring Jefferson. The deal has yet to be set.
