NBA Trade Rumors 2016: Clippers Reportedly Listening To Offers For Blake Griffin; Cavs Willing To Release Iman Shumpert?

The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly listening to various offers from teams to possibly sign superstar big man Blake Griffin.

In a report by Matt Moore for CBS Sports, the Clippers are said to be in talks with the Denver Nuggets for a deal to possibly sign the 26-year-old franchise player, who is currently in the sidelines due to a hand injury.

Griffin was recently involved in a physical altercation with the team's equipment manager Matias Testi outside a restaurant in Toronto. He has since been slapped with a four-game suspension.

However, Clippers president and head coach Doc Rivers has dismissed these rumors, as he remained adamant that they would not be trading Griffin. Rivers also expressed his frustration on the matter, but also clarified that it has not affected their team in any way.

"I think we receive phone calls on every single player, honestly," Rivers told ESPN. "But it does frustrate me when you hear all the speculation and all that stuff. It's completely untrue."

For the current season, Griffin has played in a total of 30 games and is averaging 23.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 0.6 blocks, and 5.0 assists, through 34.9 minutes of playing time per game.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to free up their roster space by releasing shooting guard Iman Shumpert. In another report by CBS Sports, the Cavaliers are, in turn, reportedly looking to acquire the services of the Atlanta Hawks' Kyle Korver and two players from the Sacramento Kings: Kosta Koufus and Ben McLemore.

The 25-year-old Shumpert has been struggling with several injuries, including a torn ACL from two years ago.

"Shumpert has a good attitude and is a much better defender than Smith but if he's not knocking down 3-pointers, he's an issue on the offensive end," an excerpt of the report reads.

For the current season, Shumpert has played in a total of 30 games and is averaging 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals, through 24.1 minutes of playing time per game.
