'NCIS: New Orleans' Spoilers and Recap: Episode 10 'Stolen Valor' Details

On Tuesday's episode of "NCIS: New Orleans," the team investigates the murder of a retired Navy SEAL who tracked down people impersonating Navy personnel. The case takes a mysterious turn when they find a Navy-issued jacket belonging to an officer believed to have been killed in Afghanistan.

"Stolen Valor" begins with Christopher LaSalle, considered a holiday enthusiast, is not excited about the upcoming holidays. The team then gets a call and a retired Navy SEAL was murdered at a Navy event.

The victim is Bud Samuels, who is famous within the Navy because he used to track down and investigate people pretending to be in the Navy. These people would often do so because they were running a scam of some sort.

The team's investigation leads them to a couple who fancied themselves as a modern day Bonnie and Clyde. The con artist and his girlfriend were caught by Samuels before they could escape into the sunset with their stolen money, and it was confirmed that the man killed Samuels.

But the NCIS found one thing in their apartment—a serviceman jacket that belonged to Petty Officer Zach Chase who reportedly died in Afghanistan. Zach's body was never recovered, and the fact that someone found his jacket gave his parents hope that he could still be alive.

The team traced the jacket to a boy named Ahmed, who said that he got the jacket from the rebels in his village. He said that while doing errands for them a month ago, he met the man in the hole, and that man gave him the jacket.

Believing that the man in the hole is Zach Chase, Pride and LaSalle head off to Afghanistan, but when they get there, there was nobody in the hole. There was information left behind though, and they learn that the rebels are keeping Zach captive so he can build detonators for them.

It turns out that Zach never lost hope about being found that's why he left clues for anyone to find him, and through following the clues, Pride and LaSalle were able to find him and free him after nine months of captivity.

Zach's parents are elated and thanked the NCIS team for bringing back their son to them, and LaSalle finds a reason to be happy this time of year.

"NCIS: New Orleans" will be back with new episodes on January 2015 on CBS.
