New York Islanders vs Washington Capitals Live Stream: Watch Online NHL Playoffs

Washington are one win away from advancing to the next round.

Only needing one more win to advance to the next round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, the Washington Capitals travel to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum to face the New York Islanders for Game 6.

The match is on April 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM ET.

It has been an intensely even series so far, with both teams winning games at home and away.

They headed into Game 5 tied 2-2 knowing full well that the winner of this game would have a distinct advantage in the series.

Early in the contest, it seemed that the Islanders would be able to win despite not playing at home as they scored the first goal in the sixth minute of the match thanks to Josh Bailey's snap shot.

However, the hosts were able to bounce back in less than four minutes as Evgeny Kuznetsov scored to level the game and the score would end at 1-1 after the first period.

In the second period, the Capitals finally got hold of the lead after Karl Alzner scored in the 31st minute of the game and would shift the momentum completely to the side of the hosts.

From then, the route began as Brooks Laich scored early in the third period to put them up 3-1 before Kuznetsov scored his second of the game.

Less than three minutes later Jason Chimera put the finishing touches in the domination as he scored to put the Capitals up 5-1 – which would eventually be the final score.

Washington have already won in New York so they have what it takes to finish the game of in their sixth of the series.

As for New York, they will want to force a do-or-die Game 7 to decide which team moves on and who will be eliminated.
