New York Jets vs Jacksonville Jaguars is one of the all-AFC clashes taking place on Sunday in the NFL, with the Jets hoping to string a run of wins together to close out the season to secure a place in the playoffs. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Jets have had blown hot and cold throughout the whole season, and have struggled to maintain any level of intensity. They come into this game with a record of 5-7 in a tight AFC East division. The Jets are tied with the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins on 5-7, the New England Patriots leading the pack way out front with 9-3.
The Jaguars have been horrendous this season, coming into this game with a record of 2-10 and lying dead last in the AFC South.
Combined these two teams have a record of 7-17, which is unlikely to spark much interest from neutrals. However, there are some interesting things afoot for the game. Last week the Jets managed to gain a tight 7-6 win against the Arizona Cardinals thanks to Greg McElroy throwing the winning touchdown pass for the game's only TD.
McElroy replaced the much derided Mark Sanchez in that game, and most had thought it obvious for the Jets to continue with McElroy considering he finally handed the side a win. However, coach Rex Ryan has told his players this week that Mark Sanchez would be put back in despite being benched for the Cardinals game, sparking much wonder and amazement among Jets fans and pundits alike.
Tim Tebow is still nowhere to be seen, as the drama continues to unfold at the New York Jets.
If the Jets lose to the Jaguars today – in what would be only Jacksonville's third win of the season – there will surely be much mudslinging and an even increased level of drama in New York come Monday morning.
