New York Knicks vs. Orlando Magic game tonight will see if the Knicks can hold onto its winning streak (4-0) when it's away from home. Ranked number one in the Atlantic Division, the undefeated Knicks had mostly home court advantage in its first four games.
But tonight will test whether the Knicks can perform when it doesn't have the comfort of a cheering crowd and familiar court. The Knicks will go head-to-head with the Orlando Magic (2-4), ranked fourth in the Southwest Division. In contrast to the Knicks' winning streak, the Magic is having a long losing streak this season.
Carmelo Anthony, coming off of a season-high 31 points against the Dallas Mavericks last Friday, will lead the Knicks tonight. In its latest game against Dallas (4-4), the Knicks won 104-94, bolstering its title as the NBA team with the highest average points, 104.5. By contrast, Orlando's is averaging 77.5 points.
Orlando's last game was Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn defeated Orlando, 82-74. Despite Orlando's losing streak this season, statistics show that the Magic has won four out the last five games against the Knicks in Orlando.
Tonight's likely starters for the Knicks will include: Carmelo Anthony, Ronnie Brewer, Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton, and Jason Kidd. Anthony will be guarded by former teammate Arron Afflalo. They were previously together with the Denver Nuggets from 2008-2011.
Amar'e Stoudemire is out with a left knee debridement and so is Iman Shumpert with a torn left ACL and meniscus. Despite their injuries, both Stoudemire and Shumpert will travel with the team to Orlando tonight. Shumpert said he is aiming to return to the court hopefully in January.
After Orlando, the Knicks will have back-to-back away games: San Antonio Spurs (Nov. 15) and Memphis Grizzlies (Nov. 16).
