New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Live Stream: Watch Online Baseball Coverage (MLB Live Feed)

New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox will get the new MLB season underway in style on Monday, as the two long time rivals come together at Yankee Stadium for the season opener. The game is scheduled to start at 1.05 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream through the MLB network (details below).

The game has been built up as a battle of the "lefties" as C.C. Sabathia goes head to head with Jon Lester.

Both teams will want to start off the season in the right fashion with a win, and gain early momentum, and both will have high expectations for this season.

New York will have a rather depleted roster for this first game; the team has suffered numerous set backs and some key players are currently out with injuries - not the ideal start for the Yankees.

SS Derek Jeter is out with an ankle injury, 3B Alex Rodriguez's hip problem will also keep him out, and 1B Mark Teixera currently has a wrist injury.

Robinson Cano (2B) will in fact be the only starting infielder from the 2012 club.

Cano has said ahead of the game: "You don't want to see anybody get hurt, but it's part of life. Hopefully, they get well soon. Hopefully, we can just stay in the race until whenever they get back, and when we get them back and they help us to make it all the way to the playoffs," according to ESPN.

Another long term absentee for the Yankees will be home run leader Curtis Granderson, who will be out all the way through May with a forearm injury.

If the Yankees can get through these first few weeks despite all the injuries then it would bode well for them for the season. However, if they are unable to overcome the challenges with the injury list then their season could be a struggle early on until their roster becomes more available.
