As for its highlight feature, the Force Touch is a sensing input technology that the Cupertino-based tech giant first introduced on its 2015 MacBook lineup. Basically, the technology is designed to recognize varying degrees of pressure levels which would differentiate a light tap from a touch.

"The feature, which lets users adjust the strength of their screen taps to bring up different functions, is Apple's latest move to stay ahead of rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co., which this year released its latest Galaxy smartphone with a screen that can be viewed from the side," the site wrote.

Their people from the inside also pointed out that the production schedule for the next-gen handsets is expected to be smooth-sailing since it will only take cue from the current models. However, assembly could still be impacted by the supply and yield of new panel displays which will be required for the Force Touch-integrated phones.
