A new image of what could be a press render of the Nexus 10 2 tablet surfaced on the internet earlier this week.
The picture was sent to tech blog Phone Arena and shows a re-designed 10-inch Google tablet with a more squared design and thinner bezels. Similar images were leaked prior to the Nexus 10 launch so this new render could be legitimate, according to IB Times. The original Nexus 10 featured a much more rounded design with thicker bezels.
The new image also reveals that the next-gen Nexus will closely resemble the iPad Air, which made its official debut earlier this week and features an extremely thin frame making it easy to hold and carry.
The Nexus 10 rumors have been surfacing a lot less frequently than those for the Nexus 5, however, the tablet is still expected to launch together with the updated smartphone and new Android 4.4 KitKat software.
There are a few rumored release dates floating around out there with one being on Oct. 28 and the other on the very last day of this month. Google was originally expected to announce news regarding the devices at its Oct. 24 media event, but disappointed fans when it opted instead to discuss music, movies and games within the company's eco-system.
Google also apparently fired Samsung from creating the second generation version of its high-end larger tablet and brought Asus into the fold who the company normally works with on its 7-inch tablets.
Asus could end up basing the design for its new Nexus 10 on the company's own Transformer Pad Infinity tablet which comes equipped with a 2,560x1600 high-res display Tegra 4 chip from Nvidia, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
