Nick Cannon Apologizes for Cheating, Rejects 'Christian Relationship'

Actor and host Nick Cannon has apologized to his ex girlfriend, singer Christina Milian, for cheating on her throughout their three year relationship. Christina called in to Cannon's radio show on Monday to discuss her new role as the social media correspondent on "The Voice."

Milian seemed happy that the former playboy had given up his past ways to become a well-adjusted family man.

"I've been waiting to bump into you," Milian told Cannon. "I wanna congratulate you! It's been a long time and a lot of really big things have been happening, so I'm really proud of you. Your children are beautiful. Regardless of my big mouth back in the day, honestly, I've got all great things to say about Nick."

Cannon and Milian met on the set of their film "Love Don't Cost a Thing," and soon began dating. The young stars were together for nearly three years in a very public relationship. However, Milian decided to end the courtship in 2005.

"All the time we were together, I heard nothing. No rumors, no gossip, and then all of a sudden I'm in Romania and I start hearing stuff," Milian told WENN in a post-split interview. "The whole time with different girls, not just one, but different girls. He said to me that these girls helped his ego and made him look good."

But Cannon told the U.K. news network that he told Milian when their courtship first began that he wasn't interested in a "Christian relationship."

"I was wrong for not being what she wanted me to be. She knew from the jump. We were friends for months before we even got into it, and when we got into it, I was like ... 'Yo, anything remotely like a relationship, I don't want no parts of it,'" Cannon said.

"I was just in a relationship, about to be married, been celibate for almost two years ... It was a Christian relationship. We didn't have sex for a year and a half. We were going to ministry-couple classes, premarital classes," Cannon added.

But the actor has come a long way since his relationship with Milian.

"If I didn't say it before, I do apologize," Cannon told Christina on his radio show. "I'm sorry for the things that I did. We was young. I was young, I was silly."

Cannon has since wed singer Mariah Carey. In April 2011, on their third wedding anniversary, Carey and Cannon welcomed twins.
