Nike Fuelband Lookalike Allows Users to Play Minecraft (VIDEO)

A first gen Nike Fuelband lookalike called Gameband has hit the market for a soft release allowing users to play Minecraft wherever they go.

Distributed by Microsoft, Gameband, the first wearable Minecraft device, lets users take their Worlds with them and play Minecraft anywhere and anytime wherever they have access to a computer or a laptop.

The bracelet is made from durable hardware and infused with speed-oriented software that works on Windows, Mac and Linux. Gameband is capable of saving players' Worlds and backs up games onto security-fortified cloud-based servers.

The wearable comes in two sizes, 6.2 inches and 7.3 inches, weighs 40 grams with a thermoplastic polyurethane body, splashproof to IPX-4 standards, and a stainless steel clasp. It also includes an 8GB USB and is powered by a 22mAh dedicated rechargeable battery.

Users plug their Gameband into their computer's USB 3.0 port and launch the Gameband App to play Minecraft. Each time a player logs off on their game, they can save and backup their Worlds to Gameband's secure cloud-based servers.

Using the Gameband's pre-loaded launcher and onboard space for Minecraft, users will be able to save their games locally, making Gameband the key to their game data.

The wearable ships complete with the PixelFurnace App which gives users the ability to customize their Gameband with personalized messages, images, and even lighted animations they can upload and share on PixelFurnace's website.

New wearables already have pre-loaded content complete with maps of games from Dragonz, Hypixel, and Sethbling, with the Minecraft Game sold separately.

Gameband not only functions as a gaming-capable wearable, its 140 array red LED display also shows the date and time, making it function as a watch, as well.

The Gameband with Minecraft will cost 99 Euro online and $80 in the US. They are available for purchase at retail stores like Target, Best Buy, and Microsoft Store in North America, at EB Games in Australia, and via online purchase for UK and European-based customers.

Users enjoy their first year of cloud backup service for free, and are charged $9.99 the succeeding year.
