'Ocean's Eight' Cast Updates, Plot News: Matt Damon Talks About Role in All-Female Heist Film

It is already widely known that Matt Damon will be appearing in the upcoming all-female heist film "Ocean's Eight." However, fans should not expect him to have a long screen time as the Academy Award winner has revealed that his role will be very small.

While speaking to Collider about his new film, "The Great Wall," Damon also talked about his upcoming stint on "Ocean's Eight." It can be recalled that Damon was part of the "Ocean's" trilogy starring opposite George Clooney and Brad Pitt, among others, playing the role of Linus Caldwell.

"It's just quick--a little cameo," Damon admitted. "I'm there for exposition."

But Damon is not the only A-list celebrity who will be making a small appearance in the film. Models Adriana Lima, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin are also expected to show up, along with reality star Kim Kardashian, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, actress Katie Holmes, and singer Zayn Malik. Some of them were sighted on the set of "Ocean's Eight" while shooting a fake Met Gala scene, which will be the focus of the heist.

It was revealed last month that "The Late Late Show" host James Corden and actor Richard Armitage had joined the cast in more significant roles. Corden, who is no stranger to acting, will be portraying an insurance investigator who grows suspicious of the female heist group. Armitage's character, on the other hand, is unknown.

A first look photo of the main cast was released at the end of last month. Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina all looked fierce as they occupied a New York City subway. Bullock plays the role of Debbie Ocean, who is presumably the sister of Clooney's character in the "Ocean's" trilogy.

"Ocean's Eight" is slated to premiere on June 8, 2018.
