Oklahoma Thunder Trade Rumors: Thunder Not Looking To Make Any Roster Changes; Rockets Adamant In Signing Durant

The Oklahoma City Thunder is not looking to make any roster changes any time soon.

In a report by Zach Lowe for ESPN, despite the fact that superstar Kevin Durant would be entering free agency after this season, the Thunder's team management would instead need to figure out how to mix up their current players.

"The Thunder need to figure out who among Payne, Waiters, Singler, and Anthony Morrow might fill those minutes and if it's worth flipping Mitch McGary at the deadline for a slight upgrade such as Courtney Lee or P.J. Tucker," an excerpt of the report reads.

The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently situated at the number three spot of the Western Conference standings, behind league leading defending champions Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. They currently hold a win-loss slate of 38-13 and are now on a five-game winning streak.

The report adds that for power forward Nick Collison, the team's main focus is to continuously improve and keep the level of play "as high as possible," as he is optimistic that his team can still perform better.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are adamant in their intent to sign Kevin Durant.

In a report by Calvin Watkins and Marc Stein for ESPN, Houston is on an "all-out pursuit" to acquire the services of the 2014 Most Valuable Player awardee, adding that team officials believe they have a good chance of luring Durant away from the Thunder because they have the room to give him his max-contract money while also getting Howard, plus Durant and his former teammate James Harden have a strong relationship.

The report adds that while Durant could be a good fit alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard, the Rockets would then need to find role players that would provide good chemistry to the team.

For the current season, Durant has played in 44 games so far and is averaging 27.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.0 steals through 36 minutes of playing time per game.

The Thunder is slated to face the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
