'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 Cast News, Update: Show Casts Actress To Play Dorothy

Things are definitely getting more exciting as ABC's hit fairy tale drama TV series "Once Upon A Time" gears up for its slated return to the small screen. News has arrived over the weekend that fans of the show will be bringing back a fantasy character. However, there might be some changes done on the casting side. Meanwhile, viewers are still wondering what to expect when Season 5B premieres.

An exclusive report from TVLine said that the villain Zelena/ Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader) will be responsible for the return of Dorothy Gale.

However, the second-half of the season will see a new face playing the iconic Oz character. According to the publication, "Chicago Fire" actress Teri Reeves will appear as the grown up version of the aforementioned character.

The Kansas native was first introduced into the popular show on Season 3, episode 20 titled "Kansas" and was played by actress Matreya Scarrwener at the time. Now, Dorothy must return to the magical city to save it from the clutches of the witch. The heroic endeavor will enable her to "forge new friendships" and [unlock] a strength she has never had before."

Viewers should expect her emerged as a "brave warrior for good," the site wrote.

As for what awaits next year on the show, speculations are rife that Zelena and Dorothy will be crossing paths once again. The conflict between the two half-sisters eventually, will offer more insight about their relationship.

A Bustle report, meanwhile, says that there could still be hope for Colin O'Donoghue's character, Hook. The pirate died in order to save the world from the darkness. According to the publication, there's a huge possibility that Hook will return to OUAT "at some point throughout Season 5" given that the season seeks to unravel Emma's (Jennifer Goodwin) journey into the Underworld.

"I think it's safe to assume that Hook's death won't be all that permanent,' the publication wrote.

As whether or not this theory will come to pass, fans could find out when "Once Upon A Time" Season 5B airs March 6, 2016 on ABC.
