'Once Upon A Time' Season 5B Spoilers: More On Regina And Zelena's Backstory; Ava Acres And Isabella Blake-Thomas Join The Cast

American fairy tale drama series "Once Upon a Time" season 5B will be going back in time to dig deeper into the root of the story of the half-sisters, Zelena and Regina, who are presently played by Rebecca Mader and Lana Parrilla respectively.

According to Cartermatt, episode 19 of the show will be titled "Sisters" and it will feature the childhood of the Evil Queen and the Wicked Witch of the West, thus the show has tapped young actresses who will play the roles of young Zelena and Regina.

As reported by TVLine, Ava Acres has been cast as young Regina. Her TV credits include recurring roles in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as young Rebecca and in "American Horror Story: Hotel" as Madeleine. She has also appeared in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" in the episode "Melinda" where she was the reason why Melinda May got the nickname "The Cavalry."

Meanwhile, Isabella Blake-Thomas of BBC's "The Green Balloon Club" and movie "Johnny English Reborn" will be playing as the young Zelena.

The source also detailed that Regina will be 10 years old in this episode and is described as "neglected and lonely." She is not interested in her mother's royal obligations. As for Zelena, she will be 12 years old in the flashback episode and she will be learning how to use her magical abilities. However, it's noted that her father scorns her powers.

It's not yet known if Barbara Hershey will reprise her role as Cora, the shared mother of the two girls, when the show returns but she may appear in the episode since she serves as the link between the sisters.

In the midseason finale, it can be remembered that Zelena was banished to Oz. But even though she disappeared, it will only be for a moment as she is set to return in season 5B. Spoilers indicate that she will be fighting against Dorothy Gale, played by "Chicago Fire" alum Teri Reeves.

"[Zelena] is absolutely not done," co-creator Eddy Kitsis said. "The Zelena story in Oz, with Dorothy, will tie into our Underworld story pretty significantly."

"Once Upon a Time" season 5B will premiere on Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
