'Once Upon A Time' Season 6 News, Updates, Spoilers: Official Synopsis Revealed; Evil Queen to Return in Upcoming Season, Emma Learns a Dark Secret

ABC's fairytale hit series "Once Upon A Time" (OUAT) will soon be returning for its sixth season. The magical town of Storybrooke, Maine houses many of well-known fairytale characters. They were freed by Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), the promised messianic daughter of Snow White (Jennifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) from the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parilla). But new promotional photos and press releases for OUAT Season 6 revealed that Emma has yet to come to terms with being the Savior, and already a dangerous new enemy awaits her.

A new adventure awaits

Previously on OUAT Season 5, Regina had split herself in order to eliminate her evil half. But the plan quickly backfired as the Evil Queen reemerged, ready to wreak havoc across Storybrooke. The season premiere episode will kickstart from the catastrophe that Regina unwittingly unleashed as our heroes set out to deal with the ensuing chaos.

SpoilerTV reported that Storybrooke will become a haven for refugees from the Land of Untold Stories. Henry pledges that he'll help them complete their stories, but Snow White, Prince Charming Regina Captain Hook, and Selena will become greatly affected by this, as their guests' untold stories bring out their unfinished pasts.

Emma, on the other hand, will learn a life-altering secret that would seriously affect her and her loved ones. It may have something to do with her fate as the promised Savior, which HollywoodLife reported would put a strain on her and Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) relationship in OUAT Season 6.

Surprises and good news?

SpoilerTV also revealed that many surprises await our heroes in OUAT's "The Savior." Jafar (Oded Fehr) will confront an afflicted Aladdin in Agrabah, whose status as the former Savior could assist Emma during her crisis. A popular character from Alexander Dumas' classic novels, the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner) himself, will join the rest of our magical characters for OUAT Season 6 as one of the refugees from the Land of Untold Stories.

Other happier things happening in OUAT's "The Savior." For one, Regina and Zelena will become roommates, while Mr. Gold pushes onward with his attempt to wake up Belle from her sleeping curse. Hook, meanwhile, is on his way to a braver, more heroic living. Reports also speculated that Emma and Hook could finally make their relationship official, but with a dark secret hovering above her head, how long could the romance possibly last between them?

Excited for our heroes? "Once Upon A Time" Season 6 will air Sept. 25 on ABC.
