'Orange is the New Black' has garnered a lot of nods in the Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Taylor Schilling as Best Actress. Not only is the Netflix series a hit among critics, it now has a serious following that rivals other top-rating shows on TV.
Now, fans of the popular drama-comedy are wondering what's in store for Season 3, and what's going to happen to Piper (Schilling's character).
It has been confirmed that Laura Prepon will be back as a series regular. It can be recalled that her appearances on Season 2 were very infrequent, but the actress has confirmed that she will be in every episode of the show when it returns next year.
"Yes definitely, and I'm really excited because I missed everybody so much during season 2," said Prepon to TV Guide.
The actress also revealed that they have started filming the episodes last month.
The 'That 70's Show' alum also told the Daily Beast in April that schedule conflicts were mainly to blame for her "absences" on season 2.
It was Prepon who broke the news of the show's renewal for Season 3 when she posted a picture on her Instagram of the show's episodes written on a dry-erase board.
Meanwhile, according to cast rumors, a host of new characters will be joining the show for the upcoming season. It has been confirmed that Mary Steenburgen will appear in season 3, as well as 'Fringe' alum Blair Brown. Details on their roles are currently being kept under wraps.
'Orange is the New Black' Season 3 is slated to have a premiere date by June or July of 2015.
