'Orange is the New Black' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Cast Set to Increase Even Larger

Fans of Netflix's massively popular jail bird drama "Orange is the New Black" are all eager to hear updates and news before the show returns for its third season. Here's what we found out so far.

According to a report by VC Post, they cited show creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan, who revealed that the cast list of the female in-mates drama is bound to increase as the 3rd season arrives and progresses.

They pointed out the departure of Pablo Schreiber (Pornstache Mendez) to give way to a project in HBO. However, his character loss will eventually be replaced.

In an interview with TV Line, Schreiber dished out that his character's mother is set to make an appearance on the show.

"But his mother is making an appearance on Season 3. Mary Steenburgen has been cast as my mom. I'm not sure what she'll do that will advance the Pornstache plotline, but for now, Mendez is in prison, biding his time. Spoiler alert," the actor said.

Other than Pornstache's mom, "Django Unchained" actress Marsha Blake will be coming to the women's federal prison not as a convicted criminal but as a correctional officer named "Berdie" Rogers. This was revealed when Blake took to her social media to post an Instagram photo of her wearing a guard's uniform.

Meanwhile, six characters are also reported to have been promoted as series regulars in the upcoming season. This includes Gloria Mendoza (Selenis Leyva), Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow), Lorna Morello (Yael Stone), Black Cindy (Adrienne Moore), Poussey (Samira Wiley), and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon).

Although still not duly confirmed, "Orange is the New Black" will return for its third season sometime in the summer of 2015.
