'Orange is the New Black' Season 4 cast news: To bring in Caitlyn Jenner, Jolene Purdy?

While everyone is wondering if Katie Holmes will appear in "Orange is the New Black" Season 4 as an inmate of Litchfield Prison, there are strong rumors that Caitlyn Jenner will make an appearance in the coming season.

People had hoped that Katie would be part of the show but they were disappointed. Show creator Jenji Kohan had first approached Katie Holmes for the lead role of Piper Chapman. Katie had turned down the offer, citing scheduling issues. The role was eventually bagged by Taylor Schilling.

At the start of season 3, the possibility of Katie joining the show came up again. In an interview, Kohan said, "She could be friends with Lorna (Yael Stone) or like Lorna's Boston sister." Unfortunately, this too never materialised.

With season 4 to look forward to, fans are wondering if Katie Holmes will make it to the prison this time.

"Orange is the New Black" has won accolades and awards all throughout its three successful seasons and it's no wonder that celebrities want to join the bandwagon. One of the celebrities tipped to join the OITNB cast is Jolene Purdy, who could be cast as a new inmate or a new prison guard.

There are now rumors that maybe Caitlyn Jenner will step into Litchfield Prison.

But Laverne Cox refuted these rumors in an interview with The Star, stating, "You never know. I have no idea what's happening in (show writer-creator) Jenji Kohan's mind or our casting director's mind about casting, but I'm pretty sure that's not true. I'm not involved in casting of our show, but it is really funny the rumours . . . it's pretty ridiculous sometimes."

Speculations about Alex Vause's (Laura Prepon) comeback is also doing the rounds. This, at least, is a reality as Pepron herself admitted to being back in season 4, saying, "Yeah, it is a little bit of a giveaway, when you see pictures of us on set." The character of Piper Chapman will remain a bad girl with an attitude and this will set her up for a showdown with Alex.

"Orange is the New Black" is scheduled to come back in 2016 with its 4th season.
