'Outlander' Mid-Season Premiere Release Date, Sneak Peek Launched: Trailer Hints at Jamie's Story

Sam Heughan's Jamie Fraser will be the new voice in the upcoming mid-season return of the hit British-American TV drama series "Outlander."

A report from TVLine said that the second half of the series based on Diana Gabaldon's novels "will be told from Jamie's perspective." And this was given light in the recently released sneak peek for the upcoming episode titled "The Reckoning."

Although not much has been showcased in the promo video, it did however unveil for a brief moment the Scotsman's thoughts about his life.

Executive producer Ron Moore, who recently took the stage at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., explained that this will be a big change for the show.

"We're restarting the audience, so we wanted to have a lead-in for the viewers that would shift the point of view," Moore said. "This was a moment to pivot and include him in the perspective of the audience."

"It was an opportunity to then shift point of view," the showrunner continued. "So it was interesting to tell those events in that first hour from Jamie's point of view. And then, it also served a larger goal in the life of the series in that the show beyond Season 1 is really about Jamie and Claire together, and this was a moment to sort of pivot to now include him in the perspective for the audience, and that gave us permission moving forward to then do scenes that Jamie was in, that Claire wasn't in, so now the show became about both of them as we move forward."

"Outlander" will return with Episode 9 on April 4, 2015.
