'Outlander' Season 1 News, Spoilers: Claire and Jenny Search for Jamie, Actress Talks 'Female Western' Scenarios

The last episode of the hit TV drama series "Outlander" saw to what lengths Claire (Caitriona Balfe) is willing to go in order to find Jamie (Sam Heughan) who has been captured by the Redcoats. He was taken after he revealed that he had a price on his head.

In the upcoming episode titled "The Search," spoiler reports indicated that Claire, together with Jenny (Laura Donnelly), will set forth in search for her husband.

Claire realizes the grave danger Jamie is in and this will force her to do any means necessary to save him. One desperate measure, as shown in the newly released promotional clip for the upcoming episode, will include pointing a gun towards a Redcoat member probably with hopes to extract any information on the whereabouts of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), the man responsible for Jamie's disappearance.

Sharing her enthusiasm for the forthcoming segment, Balfe talked to Access Hollywood and admits doing the "Western" scenario was a bit "so much fun" for her and Donnelly.

"This is -- it's a huge shift and the wonderful thing about it is that you see Claire and Jenny get to -- it's almost like they go on a female Western. They get to be the rescuers and I love that that's being flipped. ... It's really fun, fun stuff," the actress said (via Latin Post). "Laura [Donnelly] and I were running around on our horses with our guns. It was just so much fun."

This is in contrast to what she experiences when they shoot for some of the rape scenes. As what she told Vulture (via Design & Trend), she has to down some whiskey to cope up with the effect.

"Obviously, we don't drink our way through our jobs," Balfe said. "But occasionally... You just have to be careful when you go to those emotional spaces. You want to access them, and you want to take the pressure off, but sometimes it's better to stay in focus."

"Outlander" airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Starz.
