Pay With Google Makes Paying With Android Devices Less Of A Hassle

Google is streamlining online payment made through Android devices by rolling out Pay with Google. The search giant shared a sneak peek of the service during its I/O event back in May showcasing how it reduces the hassle of paying for online purchases.

People who have made regular purchases online knew know just how frustrating checkout can be. Filling out forms, timed out sessions, and unexpected errors, often make online shopping a tedious experience.

Google hopes to end all that with Pay with Google. With the feature, users can now use the debit or credit cards they previously used on any of Google's other services like Chrome, Android Pay, YouTube, or Google Play to check out in just a few clicks by verifying the purchase with a security code or their Android device.

Instead of filling out their lengthy card information on a website or app payment form, Google simply sends the merchant the user's payment details and shipping address from their account. This means that paying for takeout, trips and that new pair of shoes will be much faster and convenient as well as secure.

Currently, there are 15 merchants that support the service including Doordash, iFood, Dice, Kayak, Gametime, and Instacart. This number is expected to balloon in the future with companies like AirBnB and Stubhub as Google has stated that they are foregoing a transaction fee on purchases, at least for now.

In addition to merchants, Google also partnered with an array of payment providers to make integration even simpler. These services will continue to process payments for merchants with the help of Google in order to keep everything moving smoothly. There are currently four payment providers partnered with Google with 10 more on the way.
