Peacock Spiders Dance to 'Y.M.C.A.' and It's Weirdly Hilarious (VIDEO)

Not all spiders hide in creepy black furballs, waiting to swarm on any curious humans who poke them. The Coastal Peacock Spider (Maratus speciosus) is a rather beautiful creature, with the males possessing colorful abdominal flaps used to attract females in the courtship process (kind of like that 8-ball jacket you used to wear, fellas). The arachnids, found only in Australia, measure but a few millimeters long, much smaller than a thumbnail.

The first known footage of the Peacock Spider was taken by Dr. Jurgen Otto, a scientist in Sydney. And of course, one enterprising YouTube user had the idea to take Dr. Otto's historic nature footage and edit it to make the spiders dance to "Y.M.C.A.," the 1978 hit song by The Village People.
