Once dubbed as a capable team that can surprise many of the elite squads in the lead, that element that the Suns once had is clearly gone. They have even gone as far as firing their previous head coach in order to spark their team but it is clearly too late.

And they have their work cut out for them as they are facing one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference in the Toronto Raptors.

Already over 30 wins this season, things are looking extremely well for the Raptors as they look to continue their form as the season heads into the second half.

They are getting All-Star contributions from Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan that certainly helps the team reach the elite status they have long been wanting.

However, their first meeting ended ironically in favour of the Suns.

Despite playing at the Air Canada Centre, the Suns controlled the Raptors since the first quarter and stunned the East powerhouse 107-102.

Eric Bledsoe had a great game to lead the Suns as he had 20 points and 11 rebounds to help the team, while the Raptors had DeRozan who had 29 points and seven assists.

The match-up was extremely close throughout but what was surprising was Phoenix's poise and composure under pressure and playing away from home. They did enough to get the win and are looking to get a surprise season sweep over the Raptors at home.
