'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' May Mark End of Captain Jack Sparrow Movies

"The Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is said to be unique from the previous sequels, but it may be the last Captain Jack Sparrow movie for Walt Disney and Motion Pictures.

Johnny Depp, who stars in the movie franchise as Captain Jack Sparrow, previously revealed that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" will be different from the movie's previous installment. The upcoming movie may mark the end of the pirate adventure franchise, according to the Lawyer Herald.

The rumors surfaced last year while Depp was delaying the movie's production due to his personal problems. During the movie's production, Depp had to undergo a hand surgery that also contributed to the postponement of the film's release, Movie News Guide reports.

Depp, who had reportedly helped scriptwriter Jeff Nathanson with the draft, hinted that "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will have a spectacular ending.

"So I have high hopes for that 'Pirates 5' because if that's really the last one, which it probably is, I feel that we owe it to the audience who went and saw the films so many times," Depp told the Inquirer in an interview. "We'll do it right and end it on a high note."

The next — and potentially the last — Captain Jack Sparrow movie will introduce a new antagonist in the form of Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). The new evil character will attempt to kill all pirates by awakening the ghost pirates in the Devil's Triangle. Sparrow's mission is to find the Trident of Poseidon and use it to defeat his enemy and save all living pirates, the report details.

Orlando Bloom will reprise his role as Will Turner, or the new Davy Jones. His character will be reunited with his son Henry (Brenton Thwaites). In addition, Kaya Scoledario will join the cast of the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" as Carina Smyth.

"The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will premiere on July 8, 2017.
