'Pitch Perfect 2' Latest News: More Competition for Barden Bellas, Elizabeth Banks Talks About Directing

It looks like the Barden Bellas are going to be facing some tough competition in "Pitch Perfect 2." Pentatonix and The Filharmonic are already on board for the sequel, and now, another superb acapella group will be added to the mix to challenge the ladies of Barden University.

According to The Daily Pennsylvanian, Penn Masala, which is the University of Pennsylvania's world renowned South Asian all-male acapella group, will be featured in the movie to challenge the Bellas.

Penn Masala president Dilip Rajan said that they flew into Baton Rouge for a week this summer and "filmed by night and mostly slept and hung out all day." Rajan also shared a few spoilers and said that the members of Penn Masala do not have any scripted lines but a few interactions were filmed.

Meanwhile, E! News caught up with Elizabeth Banks who is currently making her directorial debut on the sequel. Banks was the executive producer on the first "Pitch Perfect" movie and played the role of the hilarious commentator Gail.

"It was really amazing," said Banks about directing the sequel. "You know, just wearing more hats … and trying to build more on the foundation of the first film and trying to give fans something that they will really enjoy."

The actress was also asked about certain stars who are rumored to have cameos on the film. It has been previously suggested by Anna Camp that Taylor Swift should make an appearance, as her close friend Hailee Steinfeld has been cast as one of the new Bellas.

"I can confirm that Taylor Swift is not in the film," said Banks. "There are some really fun characters in the movie. One of the themes in the movie is graduating and going out into the big bad world, so we definitely brought in some grownups that the girls would encounter in their adult lives."

"Pitch Perfect 2" will be released on May 15, 2015.
