PlayStation Plus April 2017 Free Games: 'Resident Evil' Title Rumored to Join 'Drawn to Death'

Recently, one of the games rumored to join "Drawn to Death" in April's list of PlayStation Plus free games is "Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps."

There are barely two weeks left for gamers subscribed to PlayStation Plus to enjoy the earlier announced list of free games across Sony gaming platforms, namely the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PS3. Now, some reports suggest that "Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps" might be one of the titles to be offered at no cost next month.

"Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps" was developed and published by Capcom and was released in June 2016 for the PC and PS4 as one of the treats for the franchise's 20th anniversary. The game is also commonly known in Japan as "Biohazard Umbrella Corps."

The game is mainly a multiplayer tactical shooter where players will be required to team up with others. They are mercenaries that will represent two different corporations with the task of killing enemies that are mainly composed of zombies.

On the other hand, there are some reports as well that speculate on other titles that could be included in the next month's roster of freebies, namely Ready at Dawn's 2015 release "The Order: 1886," the visual novel game title "Steins;Gate 0" from 5pb., and "Shadow Blade Reload" from Dead Mage. However, none of these, including the "Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps" game, have been mentioned by Sony yet so it is best to take it with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, as Sony is yet to announce the complete list of free games for April 2017 on PlayStation Plus, they have already revealed one game to be included in the roster as early as March 15.

On the mentioned date, David Jaffe, game designer and director of "Drawn to Death," made the official announcement that the said game will be one of the titles included as a free game next month for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

In a statement through the official Sony PlayStation blog, Jaffe said he has been receiving suggestions that "Drawn to Death" should be introduced as a free game through PlayStation Plus. While he was trying so hard not to spoil anything to anyone, he admitted: "Behind the scenes we had been talking to the folks over at PS Plus. I wanted to find a way to invite all of you PS Plus members into this experience and give you a look at what really excites me about games these days."

In Jaffe's words, he described the game as: "A third-person shooter/brawler that takes place entirely inside the pages of a high school kid's notebook. All of the kid's creative drawings come to life and battle it out in this highly competitive, fast paced, online action game."
