PlayStation Plus News: Sony Announces Free Games for March 2017

Sony opens the month of March with another list of free games. The video game company gives out free games for the PlayStation 4, PS3 and PS Vita every month for its PlayStation Plus subscribers.

For March 2017, PS4 players will get the chance to play "Disc Jam" and "Tearaway Unfolded," PS3 players can access "Under Night: In-Birth" and "Earth Defense Force 2025," while PS Vita players can try "Lumo" and "Severed" all for free.

Coming from High Horse Entertainment studio, "Disc Jam" is advertised as a game that brings together the experience of playing air hockey and tennis. "Disc Jam" will support one-on-one and two-on-two game modes.

Note that this game is yet to be launched on March 7 on the PS4. This is not the first time Sony has included a newcomer in the PS Plus free games list. Back in July 2015, "Rocket League" was launched as a free game through the platform as well.

"Tearaway Unfolded" is a 2015 PS4 title developed by Tarsier Studios and Media Molecule, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The title is an extended version of "Tearaway," which was originally launched on PS Vita, with more gaming options to adapt to the PS4.

For PS3 players, they can play "Under Night: In-Birth" for free. This is a 2d fighting game in visual mode and was first released for the arcade by Sega then ported onto console. The game is set in fictional modern-day Japan where players have to deal with a phenomenon dubbed as Hollow Night bringing shadow-like creatures called Voids in some areas.

The second free title for PS3 players is the Sandlot-developed game "Earth Defense Force 2025." Using a variety of weapons from assault and sniper rifles, rocket and grenade launchers, and laser weapons, players will need to fight alien forces.

PS Vita players will get the chance to play the action isometric adventure game from Triple Eh? called "Lumo" where players need to explore up to 400 rooms and solve puzzles. "Lumo," through cross-buy, can also be accessed on PS4. Also for PS Vita, the highly rated "Severed" by DrinkBox Studios can also be played at no cost this month.

These games will probably go live once the February 2017 free games lineup of PS Plus concludes.
