'Pokémon GO' Egg Hatching Rates: Recent Update Brings Changes to Egg Hatching
Ever since "Pokémon GO" received the Gen 2 update, a lot of changes in the game have been observed. One of these changes affects its egg hatching rate.
According to iDigitalTimes, the Gen 2 update brought about certain changes in the way Pokémon attack, as well as the Pokémon CP. However, another significant change involves the egg hatching rate of the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km eggs.
Frequent players would have noticed the change, but those who do not really pay attention to it may refer to a chart that Reddit user Topottsel shared. According to the chart, 5 km eggs are the most common, with a 51.11 percent chance of getting it. The least common is the 10 km egg, which usually contains the more sought-after type of Pokémon. There is only a 12.38 percent chance of getting the 10 km egg.

With 2 km eggs, Gen 1 Pokémon are more common than Gen 2 ones. The rarest Pokémon that can be hatched with 2 km eggs is Misdreavus at less than one percent. With 5 km eggs, the rarest Gen 2 Pokémon that can be hatched are Wobbuffet, Girafarig, Dunsparce, Yanma, Qwilfish, Shuckle and Sneasel at 0.62 percent. Finally, with 10 km eggs, the rarest Johto region Pokémon that can be hatched are Skarmory and Miltank with a chance of 2.57 percent.
And while hatching Pokémon from eggs may come easy to some people, it is important to note that not all kinds of Pokémon can be caught using this technique. In fact, there are a number of Pokémon that do not hatch from eggs, including Totodile and Cyndaquil. There are also some Pokémon that used to be hatchable before the Gen 2 update, while others have been replaced by babies.
The Gen 2 update introduced all sorts of Pokémon from the Johto region. It also included new Berries for trainers to choose from to make capturing Pokémon much easier.
