"Pokemon Go" players that use GPS spoofs to get ahead of their game will be permanently banned.

Game developer Niantic Labs have confirmed that they will be permanently banning players that are cheating in "Pokemon Go." Developers who operate bots for the game have been warned and slapped with cease and desist letters from Niantic as well.

In a blog post, Niantic wrote that they will be continuing to permanently ban "Pokemon Go" accounts that "show clear signs of cheating." It is not known what kind of measures that developer is making but they have dropped a link for players to reach them in case their "Pokemon Go" accounts have been permanently banned by mistake. Players may report their banned accounts to the Pokemon GO Help Center.

'Pokemon GO' Bots

Polygon reports that "Pokemon Go" bot developers have been receiving cease-and-desist letters from Niantic Labs. Bot softwares are apps that allows users to cheat in "Pokemon Go" by using controls to walk around in the game to catch Pokemon instead of actually going outside. This cheat allows them to have higher levels in the game because of the high chance of encountering Pokemon all the time.

Bans in "Pokemon Go" apparently encompass the using of any third-party software that violates the terms of service in the game. This includes GPS spoofing as well

'Pokemon GO' did not appear at Rio 2016 Games Closing Ceremonies

There were earlier reports that indicated that "Pokemon Go" will appear during the Rio Olympics 2016 closing ceremonies. There have been rumors that "Pokemon Go" carnival floats will be there in the closing ceremony as well. However, officials say that it is unlikely as the stadium is too small to accommodate it.

However, it was actually Mario who made a special appearance during the event. The video game character was seen jumping on a pipe before Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appeared sporting the character's hat. The appearance was mainly because the next athletic event will be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2020.

The Rio Olympics 2016 Closing Ceremony showcased the end of the Summer Games as well as mark the handing over of the Games to Japan.
