'Pokémon Go' Rumors: How Long Will Players Have to Wait For Trading To Be Added to Game?

Lines of trading code previously found in 'Pokémon Go's' files were reportedly removed recently

Several features have already been added to "Pokémon Go" over the past few months, but there's still one glaring omission that has not been introduced just yet.

That missing feature is none other than trading.

Considering how important of a feature trading has been in earlier "Pokémon" titles, it may be somewhat surprising that this is not in the game just yet, and a recent discovery even seems to suggest that it may still not be ready.

According to a report from Pokémon Go Hub, lines of code that were believed to be related to trading that were previously present in the game's files were apparently removed recently.

That's not a good sign for players hoping they will be able to start trading sooner rather than later, but even if those important lines of code were taken out, there's still a chance that players may not have to wait for that much longer before they are given access to a trading feature.

Now that more Gen 2 Pokémon are inside "Pokémon Go," that means developers won't have to worry about them anymore.

That should free up more time that can now be used for working on other important features, with one example being trading.

One more reason for players to believe that trading will be added to the augmented reality game sometime soon is that the developers have already expressed a desire to see it added previously.

Niantic CEO John Hanke has been talking about bringing trading to the game dating all the way back to the middle of last year during an interview with Business Insider, and just recently, he mentioned it again while speaking to Vice's Waypoint.

Developers are clearly interested in adding trading to "Pokémon Go." And now, there may be more time for them to work on completing this feature too.
