'Pokémon Stars' Nintendo Switch Release Pushed Back to Late 2017

"Pokémon Stars," the rumored game being created for the Nintendo Switch, has not even been confirmed yet, but reports are already claiming a delay in its release. If there is any truth to them then "Pokémon Stars" will arrive in late 2017.

According to a report, "Pokémon Stars" is apparently being pushed back for a holiday 2017 release. It was initially scheduled for a summer 2017 arrival. Nintendo has yet to even confirm the game's existence, but speculations are rife that it will indeed see the light of day.

As previously reported, rumors have started circulating that development for "Pokémon Stars" may soon be starting. This is mostly due to a job listing that appeared online. According to the Siliconera's translation of the ad, Game Freak is searching for new employees to begin work on a "globally popular RPG." The listing also described the project to be "a title that just about anyone knows," which led to a lot of fans speculating that it could be related to Pokémon.

Rumor has it that "Pokémon Stars" is an upgraded version of "Pokémon Sun and Moon" for the Nintendo Switch. However, others believe that "Pokémon Stars" may just be a port for the Switch that will allow gamers to play "Pokémon Sun and Moon" on the console.

But if the job listing does end up being for "Pokémon Stars" then fans are looking at a new game entirely. Based on the ad, Game Freak is looking for potential employees who have experience with character modeling and 3D CG design. A familiarity with Maya, an animation software, is also favored.

A holiday release for "Pokémon Stars" is definitely a smart move since a lot of people tend to spend more during the Christmas season, and announcing a game for the Nintendo Switch will also do wonders for the console's sales.

Since nothing has been confirmed so far, though, readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
