'Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon' News: How to Claim Free Celebi
Nintendo is giving away a free Mythical Pokémon for the upcoming "Pokémon Ultra Sun" and "Pokémon Ultra Moon" games. The promo is part of the launch celebration for "Pokémon Gold and Silver," which are now part of the Nintendo eShop's library for the 3DS.
It's a free code for a legendary Pokémon, but it will still cost players. Nintendo has announced the giveaway on their blog, with more details on how to claim Celebi with every purchase of the Virtual Console versions "Pokémon Gold" or "Pokémon Silver" from their eShop.
Players who buy either of these classic titles for the Nintendo 3DS will get a special code that unlocks the mythical Celebi in the upcoming "Pokémon Ultra Sun" and "Pokémon Ultra Moon" games, should they save it for when these titles come out on Nov. 17.

They also have the option of using their code to unlock Celebi for their current "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" games and transfer it to newer games down the line.
After buying either version of "Pokémon Gold and Silver," players should launch the eShop on their Nintendo 3DS. From the Menu in the top-left corner, select Setting/Other, then Account Activity.
Selecting View Receipt for the "Pokémon Gold and Silver" purchase will show a serial code, which the player then needs to write down or take a snapshot of.
Going back to the main menu, players then need to choose Mystery Gift and then select Receive Gift. Next, players should select Get with Code/Password, then confirm Yes twice to connect to the Internet. At that point, the 3DS will ask for the serial code which they noted down earlier.
The Celebi will be transferred over with a bit of fanfare, and players can then pick it up in-game by talking to the delivery person in a Pokémon Center. After confirming the pick-up, they should make sure to save the game.
This particular Celebi comes out of the box at level 30, complete with four moves: Heal Bell, Safeguard, Ancient Power and Future Sight. The compound Grass and Psychic type is also the regular, non-shiny light green variant, which might dampen the news for those looking forward to the pink version.
Still, this is the first Mythical Pokémon to be given away to the "Sun and Moon" series, as Gamespot notes. Players can avail the Celebi giveaway for one year, from Sep. 22, 2017 to Sep. 21, 2018. They should make sure to use up their code by Oct. 31, 2018, though, before the offer expires after that date.
