Love & Hip Hop News: Police Arrest Ray Benzino at Airport

Former "Love & Hip Hop" star Ray Benzino was arrested at the Atlanta airport after a loaded gun was discovered from his carry-on luggage.

Benzino was unable to get into his flight to Los Angeles and he was escorted to the local jail. The reality star was dismissed for a $3,000 bail.

Benzino a.k.a Raymond Scott aired out his side on Instagram by saying that the incident was an "honest mistake." The 7mm weapon was registered under his name and the case filed was a "misdemeanor charge." Benzino added that the case will be dismissed when he appears in court.

The reality star proceeded to narrate similar cases like his. In 2014, a total of 137 people were charged with the same case. As for this year, there are 26 reported charges that include a woman who is 90 years old, business men and several college students. Benzino capitalized "ALL RACES."

The music producer thanked all of his supporters who did not judge him in the predicament. He added that he was able to buy guns and will purchase more since he has a clear record and is without "felony charges."

The photo of his statement had the caption "Have a great productive day everybody!! in 2014, a 137 in Georgia alone was charged with the same thing, so far 26 this year."

This was not the first time that Benzino got involved in controversies with guns. Last year, he was shot with a gun by his nephew in the middle of a funeral procession. The rapper's nephew named Gai Scott defended himself by saying that his uncle threatened to kill him.

The young man was reportedly driving his Bentley when Benzino instructed him to roll down his window and asked "you got a problem with me?" Benzino reportedly hurled death threats at his nephew after that.

After he left "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," Benzino is now the CEO of "Hip-Hop Weekly" magazine.
