The Warriors have won the NBA title and Stephen Curry won the league's Most Valuable Player, while the Blazers lost a bulk of their starting line-up and are now trying to rebuild with Damian Lillard as their centerpiece.

However, this should not remove the fact that the battle between the elite point guards should be an interesting show for fans to watch.

The Warriors have already played a game this preseason, a 95-87 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Curry and his Splash Brother Klay Thompson had 14 points each as they were not threatened by the Raptors, while Leandro Barbosa had a team-high 15 points as he shot 7-of-9 from the field.

During the game, the Warriors shot 50% from the field including 41% from beyond the arc which helped them get the victory.

On the other hand, the Blazers lost their first preseason game to the Sacramento Kings.

In a 109-105 defeat, five players ended up with double figures in scoring – with Lillard leading the team with 17 points.

The guard went 1-of-5 from beyond the arc and only had one rebound and three assists in 24 minutes on the floor.

Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard had 14 points each to help Lillard lift the load, but they will definitely need more if they want to get an early win against Golden State.

Their 42% shooting on the night should increase against the Warriors if they want to match the high-octane offence of the California squad.
