Powerball Drawing Sept. 28, Wednesday Results Recap

Still, there was no one who won the Powerball jackpot last Sept. 28, Wednesday. However, there was one who matched all the white balls. The person won a total of $1 million, although the winnings could have gone up to $2 million if they opted for the Power Play option. According to the official Powerball website, the winning ticket was sold in Texas.

The previous drawing last Wednesday brought about a total of 429,235 Powerball winners. The total amount of non-jackpot prizes that were given last Sept. 28 was more than $4.1 million.

How to Play Powerball

To partake in the Powerball lottery, hopeful participants must pick a total of six numbers. These will be composed of five white balls and a red Powerball. The drawing itself is divided into two segments. The first drawing is for the white balls, where five would be drawn from a pool of balls that are numbered from 1 to 69. The next segment is for the red Powerball, which will then be drawn from a separate pool containing balls numbered 1 to 26.

Each Powerball ticket sells for $2 and ticket sales are officially cut off 59 minutes before the draw. Players can then choose to go for the Power Play option. This feature only applies to the non-jackpot prizes and will enable the players to double their total prizes should they win one.

How to Claim Powerball Prizes

For those who won the non-jackpot Powerball winnings under $600, the prizes can be claimed at the official Powerball retailer where they bought their winning ticket. For winnings of a bigger value, players may claim their prizes at any official lottery headquarters.

However, there is an expiration date to winning tickets. These expiry dates are indicated at the back of every ticket, so players could easily check on them. This generally ranges from 3 months to 1 year.

The Powerball lottery is played in 44 states in the US. This includes the Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
