Powerball Winning Numbers for Oct. 12; Live Results for the $107 Million Pot; Schedule

The Powerball jackpot just hit the three-digit jackpot at $107 million, with an estimated cash-out option of $71.8 million after taxes and other deductions, for the draw on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

This after no one successfully won the grand prize last Saturday, Oct. 8. Mega Millions drawings are held bi-weekly, every Wednesday and Saturday, at 11 p.m. EST.

The winning numbers on Saturday's draw were 3, 54, 61, 64, and 68. The golden ball was 9, while the Powerplay multiplier was at 2x. The pot, on the other hand, was at $91 million, with an estimated cash-out value option at $62.7 million.

Like the previous drawings, no one was able to bring home the top two prizes: the jackpot prize and the $1 million prize. Ten players, however, were able to match four white balls plus the Powerball for $50,000. Four lucky players, on the other hand, opted for the Powerplay option, which had doubled their winnings to $100,000.

Meanwhile, 222 lucky players were able to match four white balls for $1,000. Fifty-seven of them had opted for the Powerplay option to double their earnings to $2,000. More than 600 winners were able to match three white balls plus the Powerball for $100, while more than 15,000 winners were able to match three white balls for $7. More than 400,000 players had matched either one white ball plus the Powerball, or the Powerball for $4.

How to play the Powerball

For just $1, players have a chance to win millions via the Powerball. To play, they must submit five numbers from one to 69, and another number from one to 26, to match with the five white balls and the red ball, respectively. The goal is to make the most matches with the drawn numbers during the lottery date. More matches mean higher prizes, and higher odds of winning.

A Powerball ticket costs only $1, while the Powerplay option, which multiplies non-jackpot earnings by two to ten times, costs $2. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292 million, while the odds of winning any prize are one in 25. In fact, the last winner for the Powerball lottery had been nearly a month ago, when the jackpot was at over $246 million with an estimated cash-out value option of $164 million.

Like the Mega Millions, there are nine ways to win in a Powerball lottery. From matching all white balls plus the red ball for the grand prize, to matching just the red ball for $4.
