'Pretty Little Liars' Season 4 Episode 7 Recap

Last night's episode of hit ABC Family drama "Pretty Little Liars," entitled "Crash and Burn, Girl!" was full of twists, turns, and unlikely friendships. Read on for a full recap, but be wary of potential spoilers if you have not yet watched the episode.

Last week Ashley, played by Laura Leighton, watched her mother get arrested for murdering WIlden, but this week it seems like there is reason to believe her mother is innocent. Caleb, played by Tyler Blackburn, and Toby, played by Keegan Allen, certainly seem to believe in Ashley's mother's innocence. The two young men teamed up to help clear her name.

Their detective work was not unrewarded. In fact, their research makes Nigel seem extremely suspicious. Toby and Caleb uncovered that Nigel made many calls to NYC, and it seems like he invented the flight information for "John Smith." Could Nigel have something to do with WIlden's murder? Could Ashley's mom be innocent?

While Toby and Caleb worked on helping Ashley's mom, the liars worked on helping Ashley deal with her mother's arrest. Spencer, played by Trojan Bellisario, was particularly comforting to Ashley.

Emily also attempted to lend a helping hand, but her efforts caused more harm than good. Emily stole the key to Wilden's apartment with the intention of gathering clues. But she doesn't get far before getting caught. The consequence is that her mom gets suspended for the police force.
