It has been reported that Anna Wintour is pursuing Kate Middleton to appear on the cover of Vogue Magazine.

Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, has asked photographer Mario Testino to persuade the Duchess of Cambridge to grace the cover of the magazine, according to the New York Post.

Testino is known to be a close friend of Prince William and took the official engagement photographs of Prince William and Kate Middleton last year.

A source told the New York Post: “Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover.”

Another source told the Post: "Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen.”

The source added: “The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate."

Magazines have been competing to get Kate on their cover since her Royal Wedding to Prince William.

The Duchess of Cambridge has already turned down the offer to appear on the cover of British Vogue. She has given British fashion a boost since she wore her famous wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
