Prince William, Duchess Kate Reportedly Miss Prince George's First Crawl

Prince George is now mobile, according to one report, but his parents missed the big moment when he first crawled. Prince William and Duchess Kate were on a private vacation to the Maldives when George apparently made his first moves.

The future king was with his maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton at their estate in Bucklebury, England, when the event occurred. It was a surprising delight for them, and surely a moment that they captured and celebrated. The royal parents, however, were in the middle of their first vacation together without George. However, there are sure to be other moments that they will be on-hand for.

"William and Kate are excited about the many milestones ahead," an insider told Us Weekly. "George already has a tiny tooth coming in, and his cheeks are chubbier than ever!"

The baby is constantly surrounded by love and support from his family and new nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. She will accompany the little prince for his first official royal overseas tour to New Zealand and Australia. George is expected to make a few appearances during the three-week trip, but he will mostly stay with Nanny Borrallo. His parents, who have a full schedule, have planned a few family-only days and will be certain to spend time with George every night before bed.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been very hands-on parents, contrary to traditional royal protocol. Prince Charles was primarily raised by nannies, and even though Princess Diana attempted to be more hands-on with William and Harry, they still had steady nannies throughout their lives. From the time the pregnancy was announced, though, William and Kate were determined to be the most hands-on royal parents they could be.

To date, they have only hired two nannies: one who used to watch over William, and now Nanny Borrallo, who is taking over for the previous nanny.
