'Prison Break' Season 5 Release Date and Spoilers: Series Confirmed to Be a Limited Series

"Prison Break" has been confirmed to come back for Season 5 and Wenrworth Miller will be coming back as well to portray his character as Michael Scofield.

Few Challenges for Scofield

When Michael Scofield comes back in the fifth season of the series he will experience less challenges with T-Bagwell (Robert Knepper). It has been reported that T-Bagwell will only appear in an episode in the upcoming show. However, he will still be the antagonist that he has always been in the past seasons.

"Prison Break's" production has been trying hard to get the original cast back together for the show. However, there are some of them who are busy with other things, thus do not have the extra time to be in the limited series.

Furthermore, Fox's CEO, Gary Newman also reported that Lincoln Burrows, Scofield's brother will still be portrayed by Dominic Purcell. Newman further announced that both actors will be back as brothers in this upcoming season.

A Mini-Series

The show will be a mini series which will pick up the events from where it ended during the fourth season. In fact, executive producer Paul Scheuring is now turned writer of the show and is currently working on it.

Season 5 will be a sequel and production is making sure that most of the questions that was left after the fourth season will be answered and will give a better picture of what happened to the characters along the way. It will also be clarified how Scofield ended up being alive even though he was shown to be dead in the previous season.

In other news, it has been reported earlier that Prison Break Season 5 already started production in April. There were several locations indicated in filming. Some ot the scenes were shot in Vancouver and others were in Morocco.

Other reports have stated that Dominic Purcell praised the idea of reviving the original concept of the show and Sarah Wayne Callies who is Sarah Trancredi, in the show will also be joining the original cast in the series revival.

When Prison Break concluded in 2009, it seemed like it was the end of it. In fact Wentworth Miller noted that there was no way the show will return since the cast already told the whole story about the great escape and each of the characters have been moving on with each of their lives with the closure by the way the show ended.

Five years after the finale episode of "Prison Break," Miller and Purcell had a reunion in the television series "The Flash" which then was the moment that a new interest of reviving their show for being brothers.

The fifth season is expected to be released in spring for a 9-episode show. It will be a sequel to the original series and will show some of the original cast coming back.
