'Prison Break' Season 5 Spoilers: Are Michael and Sara Finally Able To Be a Happy Family?

After years of waiting, fans of the hit series "Prison Break" will soon see their favorite characters back to the small screen.

It was previously reported that "Prison Break" will return with its fifth season this year. Season 4 of "Prison Break" ended in 2009, which left fans wanting to see more. One of the most asked questions about the series' return is whether Michael Scofield and Sara Tancredi will be achieving their dream of a happy family.

The previous season left off with Michael Scofield, played by Wentworth Miller, presumably dead, while Sara, played by Sarah Wayne Callies, heads off to the Dominican Republic with Lincoln, played by Dominic Purcell. The ending has fans wondering just how the two will get back together in the episodes to come.

Meanwhile, Miller was able to share some details about his reaction when he found out that he will be back to take on the role of Michael Scofield. During his appearance on NBC's "The Today Show," he stated, "I never imagined that we'd be coming back five or six years later to revisit these characters."

With that, he, like the fans of "Prison Break," also expressed his excitement to return to the series. According to Melty, he said, "I think a lot of the fans are really excited to see where these characters are now — especially mine as my character died twice at the end of the original."

As for Callie, she recently spoke to Digital Spy about the progress of the series. She explained that they are hoping to begin filming in a couple of months. She stated, "They're trying to make it work, I'm trying to make it work — it's a bit of Tetris with everyone's schedules because we all have other jobs. We're all moving forward with a lot of good will on both sides."

There has yet to be any news on the release date of "Prison Break" season 5.
