PS4 Share Button Used Over 6.5 Million Times by Gamers, Says Sony

Today Sony shared that the PS4 has captured over 6.5 million shares since its launch.

"There have been more than 6.5 MILLION shares captured from the PS4. That's pretty amazing! Are you liking the share button? #4ThePlayers," PlayStation Europe Tweeted.

The share button lets gamers record videos and screenshots of their gameplay and upload them to Facebook, Twitter, or Livestream.

Sony has sold over 2.1 million PlayStation 4's since the console launched on Nov. 15.

"It's an impressive and record-setting accomplishment for our company and for our industry, and we couldn't have done it without you," Andrew House, Sony Computer Entertainment president and CEO wrote on the PlayStation Blog. "I want to personally thank PlayStation fans, both old and new, for your vote of confidence. The best part: the PS4 journey has just begun. In addition to an incredible lineup of PS4 games from the best developers in the world, we will continue to introduce valuable new features and services to PS4 in the months and years ahead."

The console has launched in 32 countries all over the world with their initial one million sold in 24 hours taking place solely in North America.

"PS4 has sold through over 1 million units with the 24 hours of the launch in North America!!! :D," Sony President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, announced on Twitter two weeks ago.

PlayStation 4 was just named the quickest selling console of all-time in the UK, selling over 250,000 units in just 48 hours.

Currently the PlayStation Store introduced special bundles for the holidays that offer gamers a wide variety of options on new and old titles for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.

According to the posting on the PlayStation Blog, some of the titles are 75 percent off if the user is a PS Plus member, and if not most of the sales are up to 50 percent off.

"If you're still in savings-mode from Black Friday, be sure to check out the PlayStation Store's Holiday Sale. This annual sales event gives PlayStation gamers the opportunity to save on a number of hit titles, each week from December 3rd to December 31st! With discounts of up to 50% off (75% off for Plus members) on PS3 and PS Vita games, be sure to take a look at these deals each week," the posting on the PlayStation read.
