'Pyre' Is Already in Final Stages of Development

Supergiant Games' party-based action/role-playing game (RPG) "Pyre" is already close to being a year old since the developers announced the conceptualization of the title in 2016. Anticipating fans will now have reasons to celebrate as they've just announced that they are entering an important internal milestone in its development.

In a blog post in the Supergiant Games official website, creative director Greg Kasavin has assured everyone that the game is drawing near the final stages of finishing the game. From this point moving forward, every step they take will be essential to the result of the game they wish to make.

"For many developers, the final stages of development can be some of the most vital, and that's certainly been true for us and our first two games," Kasavin said. "It's also a phase of development where we as a team are in our comfort zone. As exciting as it is dreaming up our games in the first place, the process of finishing really keeps us focused," he continued.

He also pointed out that they were able to play through "Pyre's" campaign from start to finish, which means the story and the plotline are already in place. If that's the case, one can assume that they are already polishing and tweaking every single detail to make it as perfect as possible.

Does this mean that a definite release date is already in sight? That's hard to say as of the moment, since Kasavin mentioned they are staying focused on making everything seamless, but it looks like the 2017 release that they promised is very much possible.

It can be recalled that the last update they provided was during the PlayStation Experience 2016 in which they gave a quick glimpse into the game's versus mode. As they go through the defining stages, it will be interesting to see what the next teaser will be.

"Pyre" is set to bring a riveting challenge on PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Microsoft Windows platforms within 2017.
