'Quantico' Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date and Updates: Alex Saves the World 'As Usual,' Ryan Proposes to Alex and More

ABC's "Quantico" will soon return to the screens in just a few days, but there's still enough time for a couple more teases. Lead star Priyanka Chopra revealed that, "as usual," we'll see Alex saving the world. In what way or form, we don't know yet, but the "Quantico" star promised that Alex Parrish is well-suited for such a daunting challenge.

'Quan2co'

In an interview with TVLine, the "Quantico" star talked about Season 2 and how she felt about the upcoming season. She said the show will be more CIA-centric, so much that the cast and crew have already nicknamed Season 2 as "Quan2co."

In a separate interview with TV Guide, showrunner Josh Safran did say that while the show has completely reset from Quantico, Virginia, the FBI is still very much a part of the show's fabric. This will also allow familiar characters to return in "Quantico" Season 2, such as Shelby, Miranda, Raina, among others.

Both Priyanka Chopra and Josh Safran agreed about how the CIA will change "Quantico" Season 2. They both said the CIA's guiding principles - deceit and evasiveness - are at odds with the FBI values and Alex's own moral compass. This, Priyanka Chopra said, puts her in a difficult position as a character.

Much like in "Quantico" Season 1, the show will still be using dual timelines: one at the present, and the other one year into the future. Unlike the past season, however, the future is streamlined into just one day, as opposed to the months Alex spent running from Liam O'Connor and his evil plans. Safran even went on to describe "Quantico" Season 2 as a "slow burn."

'Ralex' News: How are they?

As for Ryan Booth (played by Jake McLaughlin), Priyanka Chopra revealed that she and her current love interest are "in a good place". The "Quantico" love team is officially in a relationship for the first time since Season 1 and they're happy, she said.

Oh, and they're not just happy. Ryan Booth and Alex Parrish might get married in "Quantico" Season 2, TVLine reported. The new season promo showed Shelby (Johanna Brady), Alex's best friend, and Ryan talking about how he should propose. Ryan showed Shelby a "rose gold vintage cut" engagement ring, while a smiling Shelby gave him her blessing.

Josh Safran, however, said that while Ryan is very much happy, he's still yet to forgive himself for his mistakes in "Quantico" Season 1. He regrets not listening to Alex and merely following orders when he should've trusted his instincts, Safran said.

Fans can only hope Ryan gets the closure he needs. Surely, Alex Parrish will be there every step of the way. Catch "Quantico" Season 2 on ABC, Sept. 25, 10 p.m.
