Rebecca St. James & Michael W. Smith to host Night of Joy TV broadcast

Rebecca St. James and Michael W. Smith will ring in the New Year as co-hosts on a television special, “Night of Joy,” to be filmed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park in Florida. From 10 PM EST/PST up until 12 Midnight EST/PST of January 1st of 2004, the Hallmark Channel will air an astonishing line-up of top Contemporary Christian Music artists including Jars of Clay, Kirk Franklin, Point of Grace, Yolanda Adams, Nicole C. Mullen, Rachael Lampa, Freddie Colloca, Salvador, ZOEgirl, and Stacie Orrico.

The “Night of Joy” that brought to mankind his Savior brings to him a night of Christmas celebration as well. In addition to co-hosting the show, James and Smith will also grace the audience with performances of their own during the two hour concert. The sold-out concert will give the audience a taste of myriad musical styles from contemporary sounds to Latin rhythms, to hip hop, to traditional gospel. The show’s debut on the television screen this year will also give viewers an experience they would miss otherwise with behind-the-scenes interviews with the performers.

The team from Faith & Values Media presenting the “Night of Joy” is also as multiple-layered as the performers’ music abilities. Executive producers for the show are Edward J. Murray, Jeffrey C. Weber, and William Spencer Reilly of Faith & Values Media and Judy Pastore and Kelly Newby of New Past Productions. Jim Yukich took command in the director’s chair while the production was done by Lorri Berglund and Terri White.
